When your children are playing in another room and you realize you don’t hear any noise -it can go either two ways. They are playing really nice together or they are getting into trouble. Okay, that first one has only happened a handful of times.
The other day I was vacuuming and my two oldest and the neighbor boy where in the other room. When I got done I couldn’t hear them. Oh on. I braced myself. Sure enough, they found some markers. They happily came up to me to show off their body art and ‘colored’ sheep, their markings on the wall, railing, sofa and so on.
Holding back the laughter, after all, I should have known better. It was cute. Their joy, excitement and pride of coloring.
I literally had to put my hand over my mouth from not laughing out loud. Sometime we need to laugh when things get messy and that’s okay.
On the other hand, they needed to understand what they did was wrong. So, I went to go get cleaning supplies and had them clean it all up. Yep, when life is messy it takes work to make it as it was before. Remember to find the beauty in the mess.
Is there a mess in your life?
After you get past the shock from moments like that, they become great stories to share and laugh about!

Thanks for sharing your life, Jamie! And thank you also for sharing your family with those of us in your community. It is a beautiful picture of how we can all learn and grow from each other and be embraced in the family/kingdom of God where a child has the same value and can give just as much, if not more, than a middle aged or elderly person. We are blessed by you and Edgar both!

What a great night that was 🙂 Your example in the way you respond to your children teaches me and always speaks to me. Thanks 🙂
